The three-pillared fact that mind shall be cultivated through education, spirit through the arts and body through sports has been conceived and put into practice thousands of years ago by people inhabiting the region on which our country stands today. The sites of ancient civilizations in Anatolia show how daily life was centered on schools for education, on gymnasia for physical development and on amphitheatre, library and odeon for spiritual nourishment.<\/p>\n

Ever driven by a passion to excel, a holistic approach to mind, spirit and body in human advancement has since been one of the major steps towards civilization. The well-established vak\u0131f (charitable foundation) tradition, a major institution in the social and cultural life of Turks for centuries, has duly maintained its key role in attaining this passion.<\/p>\n

The intellectual basis of the ENKA Foundation is premised on upholding the vak\u0131f tradition at the core of our culture with an ideal to advance the triple pursuit of human civilization. To this end, we aim to elevate Turkish youth to modern levels in athletics, fostering education and social structure.<\/p>\n
