ENKA Sports has 384 active tennis players of whom 175 have active licences and 106 are in the training stage. In the 2021 Season, 10 of our athletes played for the Turkish National Teams in the Age 12, 14, 16, 18 and Senior categories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turkey competed against Latvia in the Davis Cup World Series II, the national team-level competition in Men\u2019s Tennis, hosted by our Club on 18-19 September.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first singles match of the series, Altu\u011f \u00c7elikbilek defeated Robert Strombachs 7-6 and 6-4, giving our national team a 1-0 lead.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the second singles match of the series, our player Cem \u0130lkel won 6-4 and 6-1 against former World Number 10 Ernests Gulbis,\u00a0 bringing the score to 2-0 in the Turkey-Latvia series.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the critical doubles match, Altu\u011f and Cem took the court against Ernests Gulbis and Robert Strombachs. After losing the first set 2-6, the duo won the second and third sets 6-3 and 6-4 and Turkey won the series against Latvia 3-0.<\/span><\/p>\n

After Turkish National tennis player Ergi K\u0131rk\u0131n won the singles match, Turkey defeated Latvia 4-0.<\/span><\/p>\n

With this victory, Turkey succeeded in qualifying for the Davis Cup World Cup I play-offs for the second time. Our athletes Cem \u0130lkel, Altu\u011f \u00c7elikbilek and Yank\u0131 Erel participated in the Davis Cup tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ATP & WTA TOURNAMENTS;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cem \u0130lkel played in the Main Draw at the US Open tournament for the first time in his career.<\/span><\/p>\n

Altu\u011f \u00c7elikbilek and Cem \u0130lkel won two championships and played three finals at the ATP Challenger tournaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

ITF WOMENS & MENS TOURNAMENTS;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the W60-W25-W15-M15 tournaments organised by the ITF, \u0130pek \u00d6z, \u00c7a\u011fla B\u00fcy\u00fckak\u00e7ay, Tuna Altuna, Ayla Aksu, Ba\u015fak Erayd\u0131n, Melis Ayda Uyar, Yank\u0131 Erel, Umut Kaan Yenilmez, Zeynep S\u00f6nmez, Mert Alkaya, Berk \u0130lkel and Umut Akkoyun won 7 championships and played 9 finals in the singles and doubles categories.<\/span><\/p>\n

ITF JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the Junior 1-2-3-4-5 category tournaments held by the ITF, Melisa Ercan, \u00d6zlem Uslu, Leyla Nil\u00fcfer Elmas, Melis Ayda Uyar, Birtan Duran, \u00d6zlem Uslu, Fatih Sar\u0131, Umut Kaan Yenilmez and S\u00fcleyman Deniz G\u00fcrsoy won 9 championships and played 15 finals in the doubles and singles.<\/span><\/p>\n

TENNIS EUROPE TOURNAMENTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lila Bodur, Kerem Y\u0131lmaz, Deniz Turna, \u0130rem Kurt and Ali Sadi Tu\u011f won12 Championships and played 7 finals in the U12-U14 and U16 tournaments organised by Tennis Europe.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row padding_top=”30px” bg_type=”bg_color” bg_color_value=”#f5f5f5″][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]In National Tournaments in the 2021 Season<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At the Senior Turkey Tennis Championship held in Antalya on 08-14 November:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

* The women\u2019s singles and doubles finals were played between athletes from our club;<\/span><\/p>\n

– In the singles category, Ayla Aksu became the Turkish champion for the second time, defeating Ba\u015fak Erayd\u0131n 6-3 and 7-5,<\/span><\/p>\n

– In the doubles category, Ayla Aksu and Melis Sezer beat Melis Ayda Uyar and Ba\u015fak Erayd\u0131n 5-7, 7-5 and 10-7 to become the Turkish champions.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

*We had one finalist in the men\u2019s singles while the doubles final was contended between ENKA players;<\/span><\/p>\n

– Our player Sarp Agabig\u00fcn defeated Koray K\u0131rc\u0131 from TED Sports Club 1-6, 6-2 and 6-4 in the singles final to \u00a0become the Turkish champion.<\/span><\/p>\n

– In the doubles, the final was played between ENKA players. Sarp Agabig\u00fcn and Berk \u0130lkel were the champions while Umut Akkoyun\/Cengiz Aksu were the other finalists.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ENKA player Melis Ayda Uyar was the women\u2019s singles and doubles championships while our athlete Erden Er was men\u2019s singles champion at the Age 18 Turkey Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At the Age 18 Turkey Team Championship, our girls\u2019 tennis team became CHAMPIONS, while our boys\u2019 tennis team came second.<\/span><\/p>\n
