At the 20th European Cross Country Championship held in Belgrade on December 8th 2013, Ali Kaya won the Junior Men’s title, while at 10,000 metre Senior Men’s Polat Arıkan came second.
Clubh athlete Polat Arıkan who was European champion in 10,000 metres in 2012 and 9th in the 2012 Olympics in the Senior Men’s categort completed the 10 km course in 29.32 minutes to arn silver.
Competing in the Junior Men’s category, European Junior Champion in 5000 metres and 10,000 metres Ali Kaya completed the 6 km course in 17.49 minutes and finished ahead of Isaac Kimeli of Belgium to earn gold.
In the Junior Women’s category club athlete Emine Hatun Tuna finished in 9th place.
Emine Hatun Tuna and Polat Arıkan were selected for the European mixed team that will compete in the IAAF World Cross-Country Meetings to be held in the UK on January 11th 2014.
