At the Turkey Short Course Seniors and Juniors Swimming Championship that began on December 19th 2013, following club athlete Eyüp Taşpınar breaking Turkey records, Berkay Hopalı timed in at 01:02.70 at the breaststroke and became the Turkey 17-18 Age Champion.
