In the first match of the World Group I Play-Offs at the Davis Cup, held in Bela dvorana Velenje, Slovenia, our athlete Mert Alkaya defeated Sebastian Dominko of Slovenia 7-5 7-6, giving Turkey a 1-0 lead against Slovenia. Mert Alkaya, who is Turkey’s number one player and is representing the national team for the first time, thus won his first national match.
Our national team completed the series 3-1, advancing Turkey to Davis Cup World Group I.
