At the Turkish Youth, Junior and Open Age Long Course National Team Selection Trials held in Edirne on April 17-19, 2026, our athlete Arel Gültekin,
set a new Turkish record for the 16-year-old category in the 100m Butterfly qualifying heat with a time of 53.37. (The previous national 16 years old record was also held by Arel Gültekin, at 53.48.)
In the 100m Butterfly final, he broke the Turkish record for the 16-year-old category once again on the same day with a time of 53.17.
