Turkey has won its first medals in the World Cross Country Championship, which was held in Kampala on March 26th this year. In the mixed-team race that was held for the first time in the championship, Ali Kaya, Aras Kaya, Meryem Akdağ and Yasemin Can wore the national colours. In the World Cross Country Championships, one of the most important of the year, the Turkish tram recorded 22.37 in the mixed team competition among 13 teams and came in third place after cross country favourites Kenya and Ethiopia to win bronze.
