At the international Istanbul Cup Indoor Competition held in Istanbul on February 25th, club athlete Emel Dereli competing in put shot broke two records with her 18.36 metres throw. Dereli improved the Turkey U23 Indoor Record which she held and at the same time broke the Turkey Seniors Indoor Record of 18.25 metres whichwas held by Svetla Sınırtaş since 2000. This makes Dereli the holder of the Junior U23 and Seniors open field and indoor records and of the Turkey U23 Indoor record.
