At the international indoor athletics competition led in Linz on February 12th, Mahsum Korkmaz (born 1999) beat the Turkey Youth Record at 400 metres with a time of 48.54 seconds. The former record belonged to club athlete Batuhan Altıntaş (48.63 seconds in 2013), who won third place in the European Juniors Competition, and holds Turkey records for 400 metres Open Field and Indoor Juniors and Indoor U23. We congratulate Mahsum Korkmaz and his trainer/older brother and former club athlete Sinan Korkmaz and wish them success in the future.
