Turkey 2 – 1 Germany
Turkey achieved a historic 2-1 victory against a mighty Germany.
• Berfu Cengiz (ATDSK), ranked 431st in the rankings, lost 6-1, 6-1 to world number 85 Ella Seidel.
• Zeynep Sönmez (THY), ranked 113th, defeated Eva Lys, ranked 40th in the second match, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0, to level the score at 1-1.
• In the deciding match, Ayla Aksu (ENKA) and Zeynep Sönmez defeated the German team 6-2, 2-6, 4-6, bringing victory to Türkiye.
Belgium 2-1 Tukiye
The Belgium match was a closely contested one.
• World No. 403 athlete Ayla Aksu (ENKA) defeated Sofia Costoulas, ranked 149th, 6-3, 6-1, giving Türkiye a 1-0 lead.
• Zeynep Sönmez (THY) lost 6-4, 6-4 to Hanne Vandewinkel, making the score 1-1.
• Despite a fierce fight, the Ayla Aksu (ENKA) and İpek Öz (ENKA) pair narrowly won the deciding match, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 (9-7) against Costoulas/Kempen.
