Our athlete Zeynep Sönmez won the WTA 250 Merida Open Akron tournament held in Mexico.
Zeynep won the cup with a clear 2-0 result against American tennis player Ann Li, 6-2 in the first set and 6-1 in the second set, and with this championship, she moved up 36 places to 91st in the WTA world rankings. Our athlete became the second Turkish tennis player to win a tournament at this level after Çağla Büyükakçay.
