The club player has made it to the quarter finals of the WTA tournament in Kuala Lumbur. She beat Taiwanese Chang Kai-Chen’i 7-5, 6-3, who in turn had beaten Büyükakçay’s previous third round final Roberta Vinci in the first round. For the first time in her career, Büyükakçay is in the last eight in a WTA tournament and will face her next challenve against the Canadian Eugenie Bouchard tomorrow.
