At the IAAF World Challenge Golden Spike competition held in Ostrava, club athlete İlham Özbilen came in first place in the 1000 metre branch and improved his personal best time by more than two seconds to 2:15.08. He broke both the Turkey and the meet record and set the best time of the current year in the branch.
