Zeynep Sönmez advanced to her first WTA quarterfinal of her career with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 victory over No. 6 seed Greet Minnen at the Jasmin Open Tennis Tournament held in Tunisia. This victory was the 22-year-old athlete’s first victory over Minnen. Zeynep became the first Turkish player to reach the WTA quarterfinals since 2017, when our athletes Çağla Büyükakçay and Başak Eraydın reached the WTA 250 Istanbul quarterfinals.
