At the 28th Samsung Bosporus Intercontinental Swimming Competition held on July 24th 2016, club athlete Ömer Tara came in first place with 0:47.39 and Arda Kip came in third place with 0:50.10. Both athletes also came in first in their own age categories; Ömer Tara in the 19-24 age group and Arda Kip in the 14-18 age group. Club athlete Arda Kip also swam to collect donations for Syrian refugee children in need of aid, which was then donated to UNICEF. While Kip carried out a commendable act that united the amateur spirit with humanity, he crowned his achievement by becoming the youngest swimmer to take to the podium in the 28-year long history of the competition. We congratulate our athletes and wish them success in the future.
